NORDIC MINIMALISM MEETS MEDITERRANEAN INFLUENCES

I am a Swedish interior designer living in Portugal since 2022, together with my family. I love to mix Scandinavian minimalism with the beautiful colors, tiles and natural materials that this country has to offer, always with the clients’ unique aesthetic in mind. My vision is to combine timeless simplicity with southern European warmth to create dynamic, functional and inspirational spaces.

I come from a long background within marketing and communications at the IKEA global range and supply headquarters in Sweden. When moving to Portugal, I decided to take up my passion for interior design and studied at the Swedish interior design school Wittstock. In 2024, I started my own studio, Interiör by Erica.
The two dots over the O is the Swedish letter “Ö”. “Interiör” is simply the Swedish word for “Interior” and is pronounced like the French Intérieur.”

In Portugal, I met Frida. A Swedish Interior Designer and owner of Noord Interior Studio that has been operating in the Portuguese market for 8 years.

We decided to join forces, and together we are now helping individuals create personalized homes with the perfect balance between functionality and esthetics. With the Scandinavian heritage as our backbone, our vision is to combine the beauty of traditional southern European craftsmanship alongside the refreshing simplicity of Scandinavian design.
